Location in a forest, clean air, quiet - all the conditions for recreation on the road from the Netherlands to France. A restaurant with good cuisine.

Breakfast & location of the hotel.
No tea & coffee making facilitities in the bedroom. No Sky tv in the bedroom. The bar closed at 21.00 hrs so nothing to do in the evening. The bin was not emptied for 3 days. Only 1 coathanger in the wardrobe.

We found that this hotel was wonderful and the personel were very welcoming and warm. We would like to return to do more of the paths through the woods. It is very calm and restful. The fact there is no TV or smoking was a big plus for us. Yes, it is a good place to go for rest and peace. If one wants to do more the hotel is not far from activities and cities.

It is like a monastery in a peaceful envinronment with the Bible an prayer books on the table. Clean rooms, great food. Nice staff. A great place for sleeping. Value for money.
No TV, I couldn't find a shower room, all doors were closed.

The staff were amongst the most friendly and helpful I have come across. Very isolated location very quiet at night so a great nights sleep High speed internet throughout was very good strength overall the Hotel was excellent

If we had known it was going to be in such a peacefl and picturesque location, we would have stayed longer! The food in the restaurant was amazing and the staff, just delightful

The only good thing was we booked it for one night only
Never ever again. The room was with dirty carpeted floor.One toilete for 20 rooms. The sower was bloked.And we had to pay £65 for this.The windows were barred with diy wooden bars. The person next door was snoring all night and because the doors don't fit we could not sleep.

The service-mindness, the flexibility, kindless and efficiency of the staff, the relaxed athmosphere, the short distance into the forest and several signposted paths, the very high quality of the restaurant dishes and the value for money!
When leaving the main road one follows a signpost heading to "volksabdji" which is located about 800m further in the forest. However, the impression was that the hotel building was not identified as hotel "volksabdij"- one has to find out that its access starts at the reception desk of the restaurant "de blauwe pauw" which is located in front (nb: both share the same parking). * The single bed was narrow and soft, the room's lock appeared somehow difficult to handle and required support from a very kind staff member who abandoned immediately what she was doing in order to help.
